Walter, any recent thoughts on making Notams available through iFly via the internet rather than only from ADS-B? It would sure be nice to be able to review the Notams without having to get a full blown briefing or checking another site.

A prime example : Our current home field is CNY - which recently had a Notam indicating that the fuel farm was OTS. Wouldn't have seen the Notam for a local flight if I hadn't been planning a longer flight at the same time.

Before I get flamed, I fully acknowledge that it is my responsibility as the PIC to check all relevant resources before flying...

I'd like to see NOTAMS in iFly, too--but it must not be easy to gather the data and maybe is even harder to find a way to present them so that we aren't overwhelmed by verbiage (which is probably why they often don't get read in the first place).

Unfortunately, there's a confusing item in the iFly airport info for at least one airport, KFVX, as I discovered today. Runway 3 was changed from left traffic to right traffic for this weekend only. If someone hadn't told me, I might have been mislead by this statement, "No NOTAM's available."  The unwary might take "available" for "existing" and assume that there were no NOTAMS for KFVX today. Yes, the statement is beside "ADS-B Reports" but that doesn't necessarily mean that a pilot will connect ADS-B with NOTAMS. There was in fact a NOTAM about runway 3. (I found it in Garmin Pilot, but I had to dig awfully deep for it--and did so only because I KNEW there was one somewhere.) So good luck with that project!

Perhaps it would be better to say, instead of "No NOTAM's available", "iFly does not retrieve NOTAM's".  I agree that the current wording implies that if there were NOTAM's available they would be displayed.

I brought up this very same thing a few years ago.  The answer back then was that the text comes straight from the provider and is displayed exactly as received  without being processed.  Any changes would need to be made by the provider, Leidos.
