Agreed, however even if I'm flying just a short distance for food/fun (although I might not get a full official briefing, nor file a flight plan) I do check notams. Got caught out once overflying an fuel stop - with big XX's on the pavement. Oops.

Right. I'm just saying you can get a weather briefing, including notams, through iFly without filing a flight plan.
