It occurred to me that I would enjoy a landing planner popup screen, on demand. Scenario example is I have to divert while enroute (mother nature emergency for the passenger). Hit 'nearest' (any trigger really) and you choose which airport you want. Up comes that airport and assuming you have the relevant data you get the picture with crowwsind components shown, when to start descent, descent rate needed, and ultimately best computed guess as to pattern entry, and so on. Would also make a great addition to the normal flight planning task. If you wanted to get really fancy for the fast and/or heavy birds, it could recommend against landing a 727 on a 2200 foot strip. :)

I don't know of any other portable software that is doing this.

Normal evolution of it is doing it in 3D. :) :)
