When flying a long flight with multiple legs it would be nice to be able to see the distance & time to the next waypoint rather than the total distance & time remaining. On my flight from south of OKC to PDX I would end up using direct to the next waypoint rather than using the flight plan. This was my first time using the 720, am I missing an option?

John,

If you go into menu>setup>customize intruments, you can modify your intrument display. Click "add" and choose Target Waypoint Name, Distance to Next Waypoint, and Estimated-Time-Enroute to Next Waypoint and those will show the info to your next waypoint in your flightplan.
There are many instruments and combinations you can create in there.

John,

Thanks for your response --- and another novice users question bites the dust!

John: You may not be aware, but you can save multiple versions of instrument setups. I have one for a "direct-to" flight and one for a flight plan with multiple waypoints. I also have one with the HSI on the screen. A really cool touch for the analog instruments is to place a digital readout instrument in the center of the round analog gauge (grnd speed, vertical rate, and altitude). It is very easy to cycle through all your instrument set-ups by just tapping on one of the instruments. Enjoy. ==== Ralph
