Walter,
I saw one thread back in May asking about using the Zaon Portable Collision Avolidance System with the iFly, but no response to it. Another thread about using Stratus ADS-B receiver with the iFly and that's planned in a future software update. There was mention of the Zaon in this thread, but no indication of any planned adaptation.
My understanding of the Stratus is that it's mainly designed for weather, and not for traffic avoidance. That it only receives data from ADS-B out equipped aircraft, that it does not report transponder, Mode C or S, equipped aircraft. In 2020 that may change, but only for aircraft flying the in the stated airspace requiring it. Whereas the Zaon reports any aircraft with its transponder on. Please corrected me if I'm in error.
Right now I'm not interested in the weather aspect of the ADS-B, as there is no coverage in Hawaii. And by the ADS-B coverage map I saw, about a third of the mainland, the midwest, is not covered.
My question is, as others have asked, is there any plan to be able to use the Zaon to display traffic on the iFly? And if so, the 700 as well?
Thanks, Dave
