I would like to request when flight planning, that iFly would automatically know when an airport is used as a waypoint, iFly would know you’re landing, this way the VST instrument would activate.

Imagine my surprise while in flight I added an airport with cheaper gas as a waypoint.  I was halfway to home airport in the opposite direction and the VST didn’t seem to be correct.  I knew it was wrong when I seemed to be a little high.  Oops, VST was indicating KDVT and not E25.

This is one of those danged if you do, danged if you don't issues.  A lot of pilots use airports as waypoints without intending to land there and iFly handles the issue by allowing you to manually select interim waypoints to land at.  To do this, open the flight plan screen and tap on the "Opt" button beside the airport waypoint you want to land at, and select "Land Here".  Now iFly will show <Landing> with this waypoint, and will adjust the flight instruments accordingly.

Yep, I'm aware of using the landing option.  I would think that most of the time using an airport as a waypoint one would want to land.  There may be an occasion where you wouldn't land and I would prefer to mark it as not landing.

Maybe there could be a software option to make it to your preference.

I disagree. People use airports as landmarks all the time. Sometimes, as a safety factor or "feel good" factor in case they have a problem, they are never far from an airport. Most flights, we have a departure airport and destination airport at which we land. I don't see an issue. If I want to land half-way, I can mark that airport to land. In the rare event, I want to fly a round robin and land at 4 different airports, it's easy to click on those airports in the flight plan and choose land here, but that would be a rare occasion for most pilots, I think.

I also put airports in my flight plan that I don't plan to land at. They're east to spot landmarks and provide easy alternates along the route I'm on. I use the Land Here option if I'm planning on refueling.
