I'm sure this has been requested before so I'm simply re-iterating...

It would be nice to have a flip-flop feature to flip between the maps and approach plates (unless it is already there and I haven't figured it out). I recently completed another long crosscountry trip and it reminded me of the nuiscance problem. When I am on my final leg (maybe 50-100 mile out), I want to look at the approach plate (planning for an instrument landing). I find I have to search for it...once I get there and have reviewed the plate, I want to go back to the map. When I enter the approach phase of the flight, I simply would like to "switch" back to the approach plate without having to go back thru the menu. Sometimes, when I haven't quite reached the approach plate phase, I want to see the map again... Currently it is a PITA to flip back and forth between the two phases of flight.

Have you tried the "History" feature/button?

I haven't looked at the "history" button... this could be another one of those "glossary" terms that I referred to on an earlier post... "history" is not standard vernacular in any other gps nor is the word intuitive (ok, I'm too lazy to sit and read the manual, I expect the operations to be intuitive"

The History button lists recent plates, airport diagrams, airport info pages, etc, so you can quickly toggle back to many different things. So it's a little different than the toggle you are referring to. It's more akin to a web browsers "History" button, and many owners find this quite useful. But I agree a quick toggle from chart to map would be nice - and we have this as one of the improvements coming with Version 6, along with geo-referenced plates and diagrams.

Thanks!
Walter
