Okay, I admit that I initially thought that the Flight Trails history thing was useless and that I would never use it. But I've found it's kind of interesting to go back and look at the trail of a recent flight, especially if you had to dodge weather or make some other impromptu decisions. (Or perhaps if you had to prove to the FAA that you didn't bust Class B airspace.) So having come around on this, would it be possible to put tick marks for every ten minutes on the trail (or perhaps black dots on the trail) so that I can see what time I was at such and such a location? Or tap on the trail and get a time stamp?

Additionally I'd like to be able to tap on a point in the trail and get the timestamp, gps altitude and ground speed. I quite often load the day's flight when I get home to look at how consistent (or not) I was in my pattern work.

Until iFly implements this (or not), you can do all that and more by uploading the file to gpsvisualizer.com and opening the resulting .gpx file in google earth. Especially cool with aerobatic flights. Gpsvisualizer.com is not exactly intuitive, but routes can be generated along the ground path, 3D above the ground with lines attached to the ground (looks like a roller coaster track), just 3D with ground shadows, etc. You can even colorize the line by altitude.

I just tried gpsvisualizer and you're right, not very intuitive. I'm able to get my tracks and distances displayed but not getting any alititude information. Does the ifly log file have the altitude info in it?

In gpsvisualizer, play with the "Draw as waypoints" options under "Track Options". Here's a screenshot of the settings that made the attached map. This places each GPS marker on the map, and you can click on the marker (waypoint) to get all the info for that marker.
