It's in the works. I've reached out to L3 a couple times now. The first time it was not ready and they were postponing the release. Now we are just in the cue for development. We should have some more information shortly. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the reply

We were told by Avidyne that there would be no app developer announcements until they had FAA approval for their bluetooth and wifi capability. Now that they received that certification (http://www.avidyne.com/news/press.asp...), they've said that app developers will announce on their own terms as they are ready (http://forums.avidyne.com/forum_posts...).

I have an iFly700 as well as iFly on my android so I'd obviously love to see you guys developing an app to use with the IFD-540/440. Now that Avidyne is allowing app announcements, can you say if you've got something in the works? I think it would be great for the first announcement to be from iFly rather than one of the big single platform apps.

Ditto--I too am an IFD540 + iFly user, and am hoping to hear about new capabilities between the two devices!

Here is something you can test. Can you connect the iFly 740, 720 or tablet to the Avidyne WiFi. If so, check to make sure you are seeing an IP Address in the IP Settings or on your tablet.

Then, open iFly GPS and touch Menu, About, Connected Devices. Touch the Select Wireless Device option an make your way through the list of support devices, pausing for about 30 seconds to 1 minute for each. If you see a list of data pop into the connection window and you see the Heartbeats incrementing, it may very well begin pulling in data from ADS-B. We've confirmed this as well with Lynx, it uses the FreeFlight option.

Most of these devices use a common port and protocol, it's just a matter of determining that port and then confirming the data flow. If anybody with a Avidyne can test this, it would be helpful. Feel free to contact me for assistance, Shane x804.

I'll test this next time I'm out at the airplane, but I think my flight this weekend is going to be rained out. I'm not sure it'll be as easy as you describe regarding the data flow, have you looked into the Avidyne SDK (http://www.avidyne.com/news/press.asp...) Connecting to the 540 should be much more than just adsb. I don't have adsb through my 540 so all I can test is that I can connect to the WiFi.
