The Blue button would not be replaced. In your scenario, if it were to pop the QV on the ASPC tab and say you close it. How would you get back to any alerts. That is what the button is for. The way if do it is to make it an option. Button Only, Text Box (Current), and QV popup (New). This gives three alert options... a button for those who want the least intrusive alerts, text box for screen real estate management and then the QV popup for those who want the most advance alerting option. I like it and have discussed this with Brian and will add to our wishlist for future considerations. Thanks for your feedback on this.

First, I'm glad to hear that you all are thinking about the idea. Second, since I don't use the Blue button, I didn't foresee the problem you're addressing. I am guessing that you are giving an example of multiple airspace alerts? Usually I only see one. But if there were more than one, I submit that a hierarchy of airspace alerts, showing the most critical (Prohibited, Restricted, Class B, Class D, SFAR, etc.) would suffice. Then no need to go back to the Blue button to get to another ASPC alert?

If two different alerts, Traffic and Terrain, then both the QV pops up in ASPC, and the Traffic Instrument pops up until dismissed. (Which means that there would need to be a new way to dismiss the Traffic Instrument.) Of course, since the Traffic Instrument can show multiple traffic alerts, there's no need to go back to the Blue button to read about another aircraft.

That leaves Terrain Alerts. If the VP pops up as an alert, then again that shows the critical terrain. So no need to go back to the Blue button to check serially for what's next on the "hit" list.

I can see things getting cluttered if a User opted for the visual indicators and got all three alerts at once. Could obscure the map. So maybe half cascade them in that case?

Easier to brainstorm over the phone. But my thoughts for now.

I think you can now see why the button needs to remain. It is a quick access to see all outstanding Terrain, Traffic, Obstruction, Airspace, Info alerts. You can't have a pop up for each of those, that would be insanely intrusive. I think touching the Button to see a list of active alerts would be great, but not getting rid of it altogether.

There are many times when I see 4-5 alerts come through fast and might need to circle back. I do like the option of Airspace or Traffic popping the QV, though I can't see it for every type of alerts.

Honestly, I believe the general feedback is that the alerting works pretty well, if anything we need to allow for reducing the amount of popup alerts.

I think this gives us a good amount of information to run with, thanks for the dialog on this.

I don't understand what you mean when you say that you "send 4-5 alerts bang through fast" and why I would need to circle back if needed.

Sorry, needed to proof that more and I reworded without any slang... "see 4-5 alerts come through fast and might need to circle back."
