I mentioned this is passing in another thread, but will make it an official request in this thread, since it looks like it wasn't picked up in v9.4.3b.

I request that METAR and Terrain Opacities persist once set by the User, like Wx opacity already does.

Is there a reason that these opacities must always reset to an iFly default on startup? Terrain is not dark enough for my tablet (and I rely on terrain a lot out here in the mountains) and even TFR's don't paint as dark as I would like at the default 30%.

(As an aside, as the number of persistent user settings grow, it might be that a "Reset all settings to Default" will be needed someday to reset all User settings to a baseline configuration, as is an option in my video editing program.)

I'm going to consider this a bug for the time being. I'll check with Brian and Walter, but seems like the expected behavior to set it and leave it. We do this with other user settings, even more important than Metars and Radar. If they are driving opacity back to a defualt to keep from missing it, maybe a brief popup message at boot to let user know if the are set below a min setting. Noted on the Reset to Defaults. Thanks for the feedback.

I confirmed this to be bug. It will be fixed for 9.4 and we'll work towards a reset defaults option as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Yep, fixed in v.9.4.6b. While playing around with it, I remembered that these different Opacity settings are saved for each Map type. So keeping track of these settings can get real complicated real fast. Which makes a "Reset to default" for all even more needed someday.
