Is there a way for iFly to filter the lowest NEXRAD returns in the data stream?
The top screen shot shows a typical sunny day in Phoenix. For some reason, there's always some returns to the SE of Phoenix, even tho there may only be a few clouds in the sky. (I don't think it's ground clutter because it changes. Although if you go on the web and look at a NEXRAD here, they typically have it set low and get tons of clutter. (The antenna is based as KIWA, which is to the SE of Phoenix, where all the green dots are showing.))
But the NWS RADAR (from an Android App called "Radar Express," is clear. That's the picture I'd rather have.
IIRC, this was a gripe of mine with Garmin Pilot - its RADAR presentation was too senstive - painting green when there wasn't anything to worry about. I learned to just worry about yellow with Garmin. But I would rather not have to second guess iFly.
(And lightning is coming soon, right? :-) )
