Ever wonder if your aircraft really glides at the 7:1 ratio the POH says?
Of if the POH's stated best glide speed of of 65 knots is really that? Let alone if it's really 65 knots on the ASI?

Or wonder how you'd tell in a real engine off incident if your 7:1 ratio you were counting one has been knocked down to 5:1 or worse by a headwind you're gliding into (and like maybe you should do a 180 and go for that field that's downwind?)

ifly should be easily able to calulate your instantanious glide path ratio. Whether actually gliding power off or just on approach or whatever.

Why not add an optional instrument that dynamically show the ratio in real time? "Glide ratio" or just "path ratio".

Should be easy. Vertical speed and forward ground speed are already in there.

Noted and bumped on the Wish-List. This request was already on the development wishlist and we are monitoring requests. Thanks for the post.

Hmmm - (thinking):

Could the iFly calibrate the glide ratio based on gliding at your normal speed and measuring the descent rate after pushing a "calibrate" button or something? An actual measurement based on it's instruments might be more accurate than inputing the book rate, or my personal measurement.
