All,

I've just promoted version 4.09 to production, I recommend you update your units to this version. It fixes the following bugs which were found in 4.07:

- Fixed bug: Unable to load some GPX files

- Fixed bug: METAR mode would get confused if there was no data file loaded

- Fixed bug: When in "True North" mode, flight plan always had 123 deg for all segments

- Fixed bug: On the flight plan page touching "Save As", then "Cancel", the flight plan would still be saved

- Fixed bug: Nearest Airport dialog was excluding private airports

- Fixed bug: Touching a private airport on the map would not display airport information

- Fixed bug: In certain situations, the buttons would fade out and not return

- Change: Improved memory management and performance when doing a lot of panning/zooming

- Change: Airport text in Vector Night mode is now white (instead of black)

- Fixed bug: Not showing nearest airports correctly

There are two known issues with this release:

1) TFR's show up for too long past their expiration date (specifically up to , 36 hours past expiration),

2) Very sporadically a popup marker will get "stuck" and not go away. (Extremely difficult to reproduce; I've had one report of this, and I've seen it once myself. If you see this please let me know - will help me judge how serious this problem is)

Thanks!
Walter

Dear Walter:

Did a marathon update to 4.09 (from v3x) and new sectionals/Terminal Charts. It looks great. Have not flown with it yet, but a quick glance shows a new button for North Up switch.

My thought is that this takes up a lot of real estate; I wonder how many folks will toggle this rather than set it up once. I am of the latter ilk.

Robert,

Well noted. But, when you fly with this you may find this is a handy button to have quick access to. If you are flying directly south, your sectional will be upside down. Some folks find the text difficult to read in this mode. A quick touch, read your frequency, etc, then touch again back to track-up...makes it easy. Also, we have the button-fading feature which (if enabled) makes the real estate of these buttons a minor factor.

Thanks!
Walter

Just got back from a 3 hour flight. Used the button to switch several times to read map... Works great!! Please leave it the way it is!

I stand corrected. Just came back from my cross-country with v4 and found no problem with the extra pop-up. I don't use it, but it does not hamper anything. I did find the magnetic north a huge impovement! Thank you,
