I have read the manuals and have played with a demo version on my iPad and with the tablet in the aircraft, but there are a few gaps in my understanding that I am hoping you all have insight to.   The iPad is on a current version and the airplane is running 4 year old code.

My biggest gaps right now are with the NEMA output to my Trutrak.  I flew 3 or 4 flight plans and they all exhibited the same results.

Lets assume a simple flight plan KORL OCF KVDF

When I take off, the GPS is active on the flight plan.  I do not activate the autopilot until I am in the air.  The airplane attempts to turn to the KORL start point as opposed to going direct to OCF or attempting to intercept.  It feels like the KORL OCF leg is not activated and the NEMA messages are saying go direct KORL to start. If I manually hit direct OCF on the flight plan everything works.  This does not appear to be a AP issue not being able to make the turn or intercept.  Any hints?

When I approach OCF, the turn to KVDF is 120 degrees or so.  The iFly treats it like a fly over waypoint and shortly after it flips to the next leg.  The autopilot does a wide swing to get back on course.  Does iFly have some type of turn anticipation for waypoints?

Thanks in advance.

I think you've probably answered your own question there.

Thanks Don I appreciate your comment, but that doesn't answer my questions.  Now, if you know that these items are addressed in later versions or if you can point me to current release notes that would be helpful.

Cth, it is easy to get current code for your 740 so you should try that first. I am assuming that when you say 4 year old code for the plane, you mean the 740 has 4 year old firmware and software.  IFly has added code to the NEMA portion of their software a few times in the past four years.

Cth, If you're running an older version on the 740b that's driving the autopilot, Anyone that isn't running the same version may not be able to help you, as your issue may have already been resolved in the current version.

The current version isn't that difficult to install.  There are a few ways, but I find "iFly Connect" the easiest.  You'll have to get the SD card out of your 740b, then go to: http://www.iflygps.com/iFly-GPS/Update-iFly-Portables/Download-iFly-Connect and install it on a Windows computer.  Plug the SD card in your computer, run iFly Connect, and follow the instructions.  Once you've updated the software and maps, put the SD card back in the 740b, and see if your issue still exists.  If it does, either contact iFly directly or come back here and someone should be able to help.
