Tried on a flight home from Houston this past week .... as well as here at the house this morning.  I first selected the auto-find function on my iFly 720 ... no luck.  When I go to manual, the Dual does not appear on the list of devices that can be connected.  No luck searching the options in the two set-up menus.

No problem receiving traffic and weather on my iFly 720 with my older stratux.  I just pruchased the Dual XGPS 170D because the iFly was listed by them as a compatible efb.

Possibly because the Dual is blue tooth, rather than the wifi thingy?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Nelson Amen - San Antonio, Texas

I don't recall any of the iFly 7XX units havint Bluetooth, so I'd guess your diagnosis is spot on.  If Dual works only on Bluetooth, and has no WiFi, it's likely not going to work on the iFly 7XX units.

If the ADSB device only supports Bluetooth, then it will not be compatible with the iFly 740 or other iFly hardware devices, as they do not use Bluetooth.

I imagine the "iFly compatible" statement is with respect to iFly running on tablet devices that do include Bluetooth capability.  It's unfortunate the marketing blurbs don't make that more clear.  Caveat emptor.

The iFly app is compatible with the Dual units, because it connects via bluetooth.

7 series hardware connects via wifi only. They don't have bluetooth modules.
