Every aplication I have used , was able to display the present position marker 2/3 down the screen so more info is available in direction of flight, whats behind  us usaly cant hurt us. Is there a way to move the pp down the screen.

You can try menu/setup/map settings/autotrack plane/. Make sure it's enabled/moving & the "center" feature is unchecked. When you start moving the icon should drop to the bottom 1/3 of the screen. YMMV. Bob

I think we spoke yesterday, but just in case if we didnt - the best thing to look for will be the airspaces tool - that rectangle at the bottom on the default layout. It'll show you airspaces, obstacles, and terrain ahead to keep you ahead of the plane.
