I have an external antennae for my old Garmin Street Pilot and loks like it will plug right in, but it is a 90* connector like the power cord for the iFly and the connector on the iFly is recessed into the back of the unit so far it won't reach. Is there an adapter I can get for this or do I have to by a new antennae for the iFly?

Bill,

There are 3rd party adapters available on the Internet, but we don't carry or support those. GPS antennas typically include a circuit board to boost the signal, and they can vary in specifications. Your antenna may work perfectly with the iFly, or it may not help at all...tough to say. Also, the adapters I've seen online can cost more than an iFly antenna, which is $18. If you find an antenna is needed for your installation, you may want to consider purchasing one from our store.

Thanks!
Walter

FWIW, I purchased one of the GPS antennas from E-Bay. If you search old messages the posts, and my report on performance, should be relatively easy to find. For the most part I haven't needed the antenna but figured for as cheap as I got it, I couldn't pass it up.

If you shop elsewhere for the antenna, the connector on the iFly is (I believe) a MCX connector. It's nearly the size of the connector for my Lowrance GPS's but misses by "that" much.
