As there are quite a few iterations of Stratux, I wonder if one is more prone to problems then others.  I have had one from Steve Solkel for two years now without any problems.  I built it from a kit Steve sells and had Steve load the software.  I believe it is called Flight Box.  Mine is so old it uses the Raspberry Pi version 2. I later updated to the SV and new fan. With IFly's new 10.3.49, the quality of the ADSB is much improved as is the SV display.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Just close it down properly and you'll probably never have a problem.

On another note, I have been trying to do a disk copy to a slightly smaller SD card and can't get it to work. I've tried a few different free partition manager software programs to shrink the larger card and can't get it to work. Does anyone know of a foolproof way to get this to work. I would simply flash the smaller card, but I made some modifications to my Stratux program that were a little complicated and I doubt I could figure that out again. I renamed the Stratux program and made it password protected.

Problem solved. I just ordered two 16GB SD cards. I figured that would be easier than trying to remember how to get back into the Linux system.

What thoughts do you guys have about LEAVING the STRATUX reciever IN THE PLANE and just taking the battery out to re-charge?

I am considering doing this as I am getting some "wear and tear" pulling it out of the plane, putting it back in, etc.  Found a lot of loose parts - may just LEAVE IT STATIONARY but want to know if heat or cold can do any damage (20F to about 90F).

Thanks!

I don't know the answer, but unless you have a hanger, or overhead cover, I'll bet your interior gets hotter than 90 sitting in the sun in the summer.
