apparently not a big enough problem needing a solution.

i dont want to make a big deal out of nothing, but I think this is quite a serious problem, especially for a low time pilot in a pattern with 3-4 airplanes and another two or three on the way in or out .  There is a sensory overload while trying to process the clutter on the screen and disregard the dupes.   I know that stratus fell out of favor with iFLY, but it's actually quite a good platform (especially the EU fork) with full size antennas and good reception compared to the alternatives.. in my case the reception may be *too* good as stratux is receiving dupes from tower 20 NM away  at 1000AGL.. ;-)

I wonder if rebroadcasts can be filtered easily by creating a hash from each tail number + position report, and storing it in a circular buffer of recent positions.   if a packet comes in with the a computed hash as already exists in the buffer then assume it's a dupe and discard.

Tail Number (when available - not all provide it) = Yes.
Position Info - well, that's the problem, isn't it? The dupe target is not at exactly the same position.
When we were kicking this around in the Stratux github, I think the genius guy was going to give one frequency priority over the other (the frequency that the target was xmitting), and ignore its re-broadcast dupe target on the other frequency.

It seems to be true that seeing doubles only happens with Stratux.  It also appears that Foreflight doesn't have the doubles issue when used with Stratux.  You are saying that (Stratux) is the cause of the problem and (apparently) Ifly is not willing to look into a solution.  I purchased my Stratux (and Ifly subscription) from Ifly--so it seems you're not willing to support an interaction issue with these two products both of which I purchased thru Ifly.

stratux is by far the most finnicky unreliable thing we've ever tried to support. We used to sell it, but the quality is not something we could stand behind, so we don't retail them anymore. When I went out to fly with one to film some content for us, it bricked itself. I do not like them and tell everyone to run away from stratux. Raspberry Pi's are great but not for flying.

We have the Levil AstroLink and have had no complaints about it. It does everything Stratus 3 does for 2/3 the cost, is smaller than a stratux, and has an onboard battery and ultra accurate GPS. Use that one instead.

Hi Warren - we've been flying with our Stratux and rarely if ever have seen a ghost of our own aircraft.  Just asking? - have you entered your hex code for your aircraft on the Stratux settings page?  If not this will likely make your experience with the Stratux better.
