My 740 is linked to a Stratux receiver. The traffic displays on my Android phone running IFly but has stopped displaying on my 740. Stratux is selected on the WIFI network and the ADSB page is showing good signal for all functions. Traffic alert is set to "on". This used to worked perfectly but has stopped all of a sudden.

I wanted to try to update the software but if there is no current update available I can't see a way to reload the current software.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Gary

Are you sure you haven't accidentally changed the traffic filtering options?  Run the 740 side-by-side with the Android device, and check the following:

Menu > Setup > Alerts and Warnings > Traffic Alerts.  (Don't just stop when you see "Traffic Alerts (Enabled)" on both devices--click that option so that you get into the detailed settings page.)

"Enable Traffic Alerts" at the top controls whether iFly will pop up an alert when it thinks you're getting too close to traffic, but otherwise has no effect on whether traffic targets are displayed on the map.  Similarly, the "Set Alert Thresholds" in the middle of the menu adjust the "Caution" limits that cause targets to change from blue to yellow and pop up Caution alerts, but otherwise have no effect on whether trafffic targets show up on the map.

The two settings at the bottom of the menu ("Distance Visibility" and "Vertical Clearance Visibility") affect whether traffic appears on the map.  Set both of those to "Unlimited" to see ALL targets, or adjust as desired to filter out targets you don't want to see (like airliners flying at FL360).  If you change these settings on the 740 to match your Android device, then you should expect to see the same traffic targets on both devices when both are connected to your Stratux.

I have now triple checked the settings on both the the 740 and my android phone. They are both connected to Stratux and all Alerts and Visibiliy settings are the same. I just watched an aircraft approach and land at my local airport (one mile away) on my phone - and nothing appeard on the 740. No traffic at any distance or altitude.

I'm now convinced my 740 has some kind of glitch. I'm going to downlaod the current software and reinstall.

Update : I downloaded and installed the system software today. Double checked all the settings - and still no traffic display on the 740. I have been an IFly owner and user for 10 years and ADSB user for two years. I know the system and software pretty well.  I think it may be time to send the GPS in for inspection/repair. Clearly there is something wrong.

If you can see that the 740 is connected to the ADSB device and processing packets, then it's unlikely that there's a hardware problem that would require you to send anything back.

I would recommend calling the Customer Service phone number during regular business hours and asking for help.

My guess is that if they can't figure it out over the phone, they're going to ask you to collect ADSB log data on both the 740 and the other device you had that was seeing the traffic, and send the logs from both devices during a session where one device sees/shows the traffic and the 740 does not.
