I've been using a Sky Radar receiver for 8 years with and I-pad.  It worked great until the last lear when the I-pad started freezing up.  I bought a newer I-pad for another reason and the screen still freezes sometimes, so I think the Sky Radar is the piroblem.  I plan to install another receiver as a backup.  Anyone see any issues using 2 receivers?

The Sky Radar is pretty old technology so maybe some of the newer software or firmware is not compatible.

I use the SkyRadar-DX, and it works fine.  I'm using iFly on my Android tablet (and occasionally a phone), and when my buddy flies with me he uses iFly on his iPad.  Both of us are connected to the SkyRadar.

Can someone explain the concept and utility of SkyRadar? Some of us have never heard of it, but it sounds interesting, especially to those who fly in caravans, groups, formations, etc.  Maybe even post a photo of it in use? Examples of how it assists you beyond ADSB in?

Thanks Gents.

It's just an ADS-B In unit, like most others as far as I know.  Dual-band receiver, and provides WiFi out.  GPS with WAAS.  The DX model has AHRS, which iFly uses to more accurately sense pitch/roll/yaw.  I bought it at some discount before Stratux was catching on, though I built my own Stratux later to use in another plane.  The Stratux sits on a shelf collecting dust -- too finicky, and I didn't add all the bells and whistles to make it even comparable to the SkyRadar.

Look at their website for more info.
