I'm installing the Lynx NGT9000 in my Grumman Cheetah. Anyone know how it plays with the iFly GPS 740? The Lynx website says it is compatible but there are no other isntructions.. My install should be done by this weekend.

Thanks and Happy New Year,

Rudy

Rudy,

Yes, iFly GPS works with the NGT-9000. It's essentially the same as any other ADS-B device, it broadcasts a WiFi access point that you connect your 740 to and then iFly will receive from it automatically.

I spoke with a L3 rep today and he informed me that the GPS location from the 9000 is only for ADSB out, not transmited through the wifi and I would need a device/tablet that had an internal GPS to get my position. Did I understand him correctly? I can't find anything on the Lynx site that says the GPS location is avalibe via the 9000 wifi, only traffic and weather.

Thanks,

Justin

Justin, the 9000 may or may not send that GPS position  via the wifi, But don't really matter if you are wifi connected to your 740. It will indicate just fine onto the 740  using the internal GPS.
