Today was the first time I have experienced this. My Stratux would not hold the AHRS attitude as depicted by iFly. I could reset the Stratux or iFly AHRS but within a minute or two it was off such that I was getting an alarm. I did not think about looking at the Stratux program by going to 192.168.10.1 I guess I will update my Stratux firmware program before I fly again or maybe my AHRS module is failing, IDK.

My son and I were part of the software development team with Stratux. I thought it was a great idea. But then I realized it was a project box ( think "Heathkit") and dropped our our involvement in it. I now look at it as a "kit" and has no place in an aircraft where reliability is a must. So I invested in a Free Flight system, and have depended on it for over a year. A lot to be said for approved equipment.

The Stratux is fine for my purposes (daytime, VFR). I am flying with Sport Pilot privileges since I don't hold a current FAA medical and don't qualify for Basic Med. The airplane has a Garmin G300, so the iPad is just for iFly navigation and traffic, but until today, the AHRS has been rock solid. My FBO will be adding ADS-B sometime within the next year, of course.

What is your affiliation with Free Flight?

No affiliation with FF whatsoever. I just found it to be the best , most cost effective ADS-B solution. Actually I purchased the system from AP.

I would assume Garmin has or will have an ADS-B solution for the G300, but I don't know that.
