I just downloaded the new Windows Flight Planning software and planned my KTRM to KBFI 917 NM yearly trip for Wednesday. What a wonderful tool for long range planning especially out here in the mountain West where we have more MOAs and Restricted areas then the rest of the country. The rubber band for jinking around Restricted Areas is superb.  It is lightning fast in changes. It had all the waypoints in the right place. What a tool!

How are iFly/Windows users alerted there is an upgrade available for download?

Will iFly/Windows get its own Forum-Discussions group?

It took a little adjusting at first but I find I'm using iFly/Windows more and more. I was using Skyvector.com but overall the iFly version has much more data available for flight planning.

Well done, guys!

I have been debating whether to stay with AOPA but stayed because it has its own Flight Planner

I wasn’t happy that AOPA raised its membership rates a few years ago, but stayed because it had Flight Planner.

Now that iFly has a windows version, a really good version, I will not be renewing with AOPA. I’m sad that I won’t be able to support AOPA, but funds are limited.

Thanks AP, the Windows version is great, just like the iFly I fly with.

Perhaps there is something I'm missing but IFly for Windows on my computer doens't recognize my yearly subscription.

Windows 7 Ultimate, IFly Android multi-platform subscription.

I too have an issue with the self-centering of the screen off of my current township.

Did you click Menu - About - My Account and add your computer as a device. iFly now allows 4 devices if you have the multi-platform add-on.

Also, iFly will center on your current location if your computer knows where it is.
