Good morning everyone.

Planning to run iFly GPS software on either an Ipad or Android connected to a stratux.

I would also like to feed my EZ Pilot(auto pilot), so the Ipad is out for this function

as no external connection is possible.

On the other hand most android have USB connection and I was

wondering if the iFly Gps software does send the NMEA information(GPRMC,GPRMB etc..) out to the USB????

Regards...

The iFly proprietary devices (like the 740) are commonly used to drive autopilots.

Most Android devices can act as a USB host, but you need an OTG cable to get that to work.  I'm not sure if others have confirmed that approach will work...hopefully someone will chime in.

I'm expecting it would work something like this:  http://rfexplorer.com/usb-host-mode/

Edit:  Whoops--disregard.  Per Walter's reply below, this doesn't work.

Unfortunately NMEA output from a tablet will not work right now.  There may be another option coming next year but it will require some significant coding to make it work.

Thank you guys for your response much appreciated.

Can you confirm Walter that the 740 does output the GPRMB and GPRMC out of the USB

slot???

Regards...

Confirmed - you just need a USB to Serial cable, we sell one in our online store.
