If your ads-b "in" unit has a WAAS GPS, how do I get iFly to choose that gps rather than the internal one? (Seems as if this has been asked before...)

Turn off your Android tablet's GPS. I use the Power Control widget for that. Then, in IFly, click Menu, About, Connected Device, and select your ADS-B device. That should be all you have to do. Oh yes, make sure you turned on your Android WIFI and connected to your ADS-B device.

I thought iFly always defaulted to using the ADSB device's GPS if one was connected. I've never changed any settings, and that's how my Nexus 7 has always behaved. Once connected to the SkyGuard receiver, the "GPS Signal Strength" instrument changes to an "ADSB" instrument.

If the N7 loses the wifi connection to the SkyGuard (like if the SkyGuard's power cord jiggles loose from the cig lighter port), then iFly reverts back to the N7's internal GPS.

That is mostly correct. The iFly GPS software will use the stronger GPS signal, whether the internal device GPS or External GPS source (ADS-B). There is no setting to change.

Typically, the ADS-B GPS antenna is placed in a manner that promotes a stronger GPS signal, thus it's signal is typically used. If you see multiple green bars in the GPS Status instrument, it's using the internal GPS and not the ADS-B GPS signal.
