Ok so I'm looking for help from some experts on this forum. I have a 700 but also have the software installed on my Android HTC Phone. The software has worked great!

Just last week I purchased a Dual XGPS170. I turned on the Dual in "other" mode and then started the Ifly app. I then went to Menu/about/ connected devices. I selected the Dual.

It seemed to find it and the three lights on the Dual all went solid... Great!. I saw the Ifly app go from GPS status to ADS-B. Does this mean that I'm ready to receive ADS-B data or that I'm using the GPS from the Dual170?

Now I haven't flown with a lot of weather since I've only had this a week, but after it gets to the GPS Status of "ADS-B", I went back to the connected devices page and see that the Status says: not receiving... Has anyone checked this? What am I doing wrong?

Anyone?

Oh and I'm sure everyone knows but I just found this out. If I put my phone in Airplane mode, then go back and turn on Bluetooth, it seems that the Android GPS in this phone still functions because I can still run the Ifly App without using the Dual....

You're not going to receive a ground station until you're in the air.

I think most (or some) phones can have the internal GPS turned on while in airplane mode.

So the not receiving refers to ground stations? I had it up in a plane yesterday at about 2500 ft withing 10 miles of PVD, Rhode Island. Was up for close to 30 minutes, that never changed.

Thanks,

Wade

Did you receive any Metars/TAFs/Winds/TFR's or Nexrad during this trip?

v9.1 has a new feature which enables me to see a lot more detail. Before you take off next time:

"Menu => About => Connected Devices => Wireless Device => Enabled ADSB Logger" (check the box)

(this enables the logger for THAT session only; it stops once you restart iFly)

When you land, do "Menu => About => Send Bug Report => Send Log" and select the "AdsbRaw.bin" file to send us. From this file, we can reproduce your whole flight along with warnings/errors interleafed with the Adsb data.
