On my Nexus 7, when I select "Menu => Exit Application => Shutdown Application", the "GPS signal acquisition" flashing dot on the status bar goes away, for me.

You might also try making sure that our app is fully shut down on your phone... for me, I click the bottom right Droid button which shows me the list of running apps, and I can swipe the iFly GPS app off the screen, to fully shut it down. Even for the Nexus, after doing this Shutdown, iFly still shows up under the list of running Apps. Please Swipe it off the screen and see if the "GPS acquisition" target icon goes away.

Morning Brian - I tried both ways, 'Shutdown Application' and 'swiping app off the screen', to shut the app down and the GPS signal acquisition icon is still there. I then went to "Settings => Apps => Running Apps" and iFly is not in the list of running apps.

Hmmm. So I assume that if you power off your phone and power it on again -- it goes away, right? Then it doesn't appear until after you start up iFly, correct?

No, Brain, it is still there even after I power down the whole phone and power it back up. - Jim

You might want to google this behavior for you phone model, and see what you find (if it's important to you). It's possible that when you answered "yes, allow location services" on first startup that this enabled your GPS acquisition feature always. I don't think that's the normal behavior for all devices though (e.g. Nexus 7). It saves battery, typically to have GPS services off.
