Using either VFR or IFR maps and after tapping
- on an airport,
- plate options,
- approaches,
- pick any approach,
how does one close that plate and return to the map?

On the right side of the screen will be a "Plates" button for options.  There will be a "Hide Approach Plate" option in there.
