I see that iFly GPS has options to sync some data between devices, but it appears that does NOT include aviation databases.  I have two tablets running iFly GPS (one for flight and a backup in case of failure).  Is there any way to copy the navigation data from one device to the other (perhaps with a file manager)?  When the chart data expires it would be nice to download 2GB and copy it rather than downloading 4GB (2GB to each device).  Thoughts?

Thanks,

As of today, it is not possible to do what you are asking, though you are not the first to request this capability be added.

As of today, in a nutshell:
- If the data is created by the user, it can be synched across devices.
- If the data is created by the FAA, then it must be downloaded separately on each device directly from the Internet.

And for what it's worth, even when you synch user-created data across devices, you're still uploading it from the Source device to the iFly cloud across the Internet, and then downloading it to the Recipient device from the iFly cloud across the Internet--you're not transferring those data directly from device to device.

(There is a separate feature where you can share Flight Plans directly between devices that are all connected to the same local wi-fi network, but that is a different feature than the synch feature.)

Hey Gary!

Cobra is right. That isn't possible at the moment, but it is something we're aware of and working on!

And also, with the release of version 11.0, we revamped the whole data downloading core logic, to make this type of logic far easier.  So we've already carried this ball to the 80 yard line.  Now we just need to take it into the End-Zone, and implement an FTP-style data transfer over Wifi.
