I have started usign MyLogBook - a great tool, but also a TON of work adding all my flights. It has the ability to import flights in KML format. This gives a much more accurate flight log than using MLB's flight tracking. Is this possible?

Do you mean "MyFlightbook"?

I use that as my primary logbook, too, but I don't find it burdensome...the reason I use it is because it's so easy.  Are you aware that you can set it up so that you push one button at the start of your flight, and it will capture your origin airport, destination airport, the flight path you take in between, and auto-fill the times at the end when you push a button to tell it the flight is complete?

I know MyFlightbook has the ability to import additional data from other sources, but it captures what I want very well already so I have never felt the need to explore that capability.

Sorry, yes, that's what I meant. No, it's not that hard to do I agree. Just looking to see if I could more simply combine operations.

To export a flight to MyFlightBook, first install their app on your device.  Then in iFly touch History (or Menu->History) -> Show Past Flight Trail -> select the flight you wish to export ->  touch the Export button -> select MyFlightBook, or alternatively you can send the file via email or to other apps.  It's GPX format.

Note, there is an issue with altitude format in the GPX file, this will be fixed in our next release.

Thanks!

Walter

Thanks Walter. Got it and used it. However, there's some limitations with the iFly export.

I record flights using Hobbs time - this means from engine start to engine shutdown. While I can set a speed for takeoff and landing, I don't see how to do Hobbs time in iFly.

I was hoping to just import the flight tracks from iFly into MyFlightBook, but it makes a complete flight entry. Is there a way to do this? Whilst doen manually, MFB has an Engine Start/Stop function.

All my Foreflight collegues can get 3D flight tracks in Google Earth (or maps, not quite sure which). Can we do that with iFly?

Thanks.
