I only have one radio - 978, and sometimes I see traffic, but not often.

Anyone considering an ADS-B in device for purposes of traffic, please Google ADS-B and learn the ins and outs and limitations of the system. Traffic information without on-board ADS-B out is very limited.

Oldpilot is very correct. The ADS-B out is what "wakes up" or activates your service area traffic. That service area is 15nm and +/- 3500 ft around you. With no "Out", your only seeing other "out" aircraft and thier service area, which are most likely at irrelevant altitudes. It's not a blanket area wake up for all altitudes.
