Thanks for the multiple airplane profiles in the most recent release. Is the profile data in a text file or files somewhere where I can find it? I rummaged around in the file system for a bit but was unsuccessful in finding it.

For CAP I fly several 182s that differ only in tail number. I'd like to load the data for one of them, then copy and edit the data to create profiles for the others.

This is not a huge time-saver right now, but my guess is that you have weight & balance on the future enhancement list. This entails error-prone entry of a fair amount of data, so being able to copy a known-good profile and edit it will be more important then. Having access to a basic profiles library, possibly with user-contributed files, would also be nice.

TIA

They are stored in \User\AircraftProfiles.config. You may need to create a 2nd profile before the file is created. It's not exactly human readable, but it is simple ascii so you could probably tinker (;-) with the file and figure out the format.

Thanks, Walter. And of course this is the fear: You give a user a little technical information and it turns into a support nightmare.

I do not find a "\user\ .... " directory anywhere.

I find "Computer\Nexus 7\Internal storage\Android\data\iFly.GPS\files\iFly\ ..." containing directories #FlightLogs, #FlightPlans, and #Logs but nothing looking like an aircraft configuration file in any of them. I have three profiles stored.

Searching from the root and subdirectories for "aircraftprofiles.*" produces no joy either.

This is not an issue that merits a lot of your time, but another clue or two would be appreciated.

TIA

Sorry Tinker, not sure I'm gonna be able to direct you further. Our \User folder is allocated to the app by the OS, it's not part of our data folders which are easier to find. And I'm not familiar enough with Android internals to know if this is accessable short of jailbreaking your device.
