The DX is the newest version with AHRS; they ran a special pre-launch price for the first 25 or 50 buyers so I ordered one. Surprisingly for a technology project it shipped on time (20th) and arrived today.

Initial PIREP: It installed like a dream. I connected my Nexus 7 to the Skyradar WiFi network and iFly recognized the device without a peep. So far, ground testing, I am not getting WX but I am seeing the 1090MHz big iron on approach to the local Bravo so I know that things are working.

A couple of questions:

1) I recall reading here somewhere that iFly uses the internal N7 GPS even if an external GPS is available as in the SkyRadar box. Correct? My N7 GPS works fine, so I won't bother to hook up the SkyRadar GPS antenna if it's not necessary.

2) Any guess on when iFly will begin recognizing the SkyRadar AHRS sensors? Not that I am anxious to play with my new toy or anything ... ;-)

TIA.

I use a Nexus 7 with my SkyGuardTWX transceiver, and as far as I know, it uses the SkyGuard GPS. I turn the internal Nexus 7 GPS off. You won't receive any weather until you are receiving a ground station, but I guess you know that.

TIA,

Interesting idea to have Dual Band Receiver w/ AHRS, nice for those will ADS-B Out already, or waiting to get ADS-B Out. Glad to hear the new DX is working with our software without issue for WX and Traffic. iLevil has introduced the iLevil Sport, only it's a super portable GPS + AHRS, no ADS-B. The GPS, AHRS and ADS-B market is getting interesting and very diverse.

With the SkyRadar AHRS, we'll need to get a test device from SkyRadar to code up and test the AHRS from the DX. We will reach out to them after SnF. Development time will be TBD at this point.

As for using your internal Nexus 7 GPS, just leave the SkyRadar DX Antenna out of the mix and the App should sense the absence of the GPS Signal and revert to using the Nexus internal GPS signal. I hope this helps.
