Hi Shane,

Sorry for the slow response. I have been traveling.

Re profiles, one vendor I know of has set up a library where users can contribute and share airplane profiles. I would never use someone else's data without checking it, but it is a PITA to enter W&B envelopes, etc. so I am glad to use other people's work as a starting point to edit for my own profiles. Think plain text files. You guys appear to be trying to develop a user community with the forums, etc. A user profile library could be part of that.

Re target market for multiple profiles/user, it's not just schools and instructors. I fly a half-dozen club planes, a half-dozen CAP airplanes, and a few strays owned by friends or companies I work with. So .. club members, CAP members, ... are also targets.

Re fltplan.com you did not comment. Maybe you guys have already looked into this and rejected it or been turned down, but I think the relationship could be very symbiotic. What they do, you don't do, and vice versa, so the existence of a relationship could benefit both organizations. Probably the critical question is whether fltplan.com is interested in adding a bunch of bugsmasher drivers to their user base.

Tinker,

I agree on the profile standards. I'm sure we'll have to standards or templates to choose from, then have an edit, save option.

As for the target markets, I was not restricting target markets to Instructors, students or schools. I was merely stating those as additional targets the we see as more volume opportunities.

Finally, in regards to fltplan.com, I've reached out to them and a few others. They have not express the same enthusiasm for integrating with outside partners that we express. We feel there is a lot of integration opportunity here. We've reached out to Cloud Ahoy, FltPlan.com, 100LL, AirNav, Globalair.com, Barnstormers, AOPA, and many others. We do have some things in the works for later this year.

There are so many option to filing a Flight Plan, DUATs, FltPlan.com, Lockheed Martin, FAA and many more. We will be adding our File Flight Plan option in the very near future, but we want to make it so that it is the easiest for the end user.

Thanks again for your helpful feedback and hope you have a good day.

OK. My Garmin Pilot has expired and I'm not renewing it. I'll sign with you guys when my trial/beta runs out.

I went with GP a year ago thinking that they would quickly consolidate their postion as the leader on the Android platform by updating their app to match the iThings GP. Instead they have given me nothing of value and appear to have no interest in doing anything but harvesting the revenue they now receive from Android users.

iFly, in contrast, is investing and improving. Yes, it may not match GP in all features but the direction is clearly to increase competitiveness and to lead where possible. That's worth supporting. The fact that I like the UI better and that iFly does not lock users into a proprietary ADS-B box are additional plusses.

I'm looking forward to the ride!

Tinker,

Thanks for the kind comments. They are much appreciated by the iFly Staff. I sent you an email on the side, so when you get a chance you might have a look. Thanks again, and I believe it's going to be a very fun ride... or flight.
