Our iPad Mini running 8.2.44 and that latest Apple update (whatever it is) has had iFly freeze on the last two flights between 40 - 50 minutes into the flight. The button at the bottom would return it to home, and other apps would open and run, but iFly was frozen in place and would not respond. Powering off and on restored iFly to operation. It is connected to a Garmin Glo for GPS via bluetooth, but we did not get any messages about loosing GPS.
The iPad is mounted in the right lower side of the windshield in our C182 and gets hot, so I mounted a sheet of aluminum between the RAM ball and the iPad mount hoping to keep it cooler - no joy. It is still hot when removed. However, since other apps ran fine, I dont think this freezing of iFly is heat related.
