I would like to know this as well. This is functionality that ForeFlight has had for quite a while, and is basic enough that I just assumed iFlyGPS would have it as well. I'm finding that I may have been wrong.
Computer based simulation is an ever-growing facet of flight training and proficiency, and it would really help, in several ways, if I could use this with my students.
There are multiple applications - some payware, and some freeware - that take location data from a running flight simulator and broadcast it over the network in a format that ForeFlight recognizes as data from an external GPS device connected via wifi, like a Stratus. Since iFlyGPS has the architecture already built to read this data, would it be possible to have this functionality added?
As an example, here is one freeware utility that makes the connection and provides data. There just needs to be a way to make the iFlyGPS app on the iPad recognize it as external GPS data:
