I did a long cross country yesterday and in preparation I looked a various aiports and for the majority of them the pattern altitude was listed as not specified. Yet if I looked at the ADF or AOPA GO there are clear instructons for the patern altitude.

How come they are listed in Iflygpd as not specified?

Thanks,

Peter

Peter,

We do report the Pattern Altitudes, one if none is not offiiaclly reported, it shows Not Specified. We've discussed putting in the SOP of 1000ft AGL. Most common patterns are 800AGL, 1000AGL or otherwise reported.

Can you report what airports you saw this discrepancy at? This will help us determine if any data is missing or if they are just posting an unofficial pattern altitude.

I recommend you not put in a pattern altitude if you don't have the exact information. We can guess 800 or 1000 as easy as you can. If you put something, we'll think it's official when it's not.

Hi Shane,

I just got back from a business trip hence my late reply. I just end checked my route from last week's flight to the PA Grand Canyon. There where several airports with not specified pattern altitude:

-9D4, KSEG, KLHV, N38 and KMQS.

I would use + 1000 as standard but especially at larger airport I like to know jet or helicopter patterns too.

Peter
