i've downloaded and started trialing iFLYGPS after attending the next generation WXBRIEF seminar from FAA/LMFS.

I've been incredibly impressed! Previously I've used FLYQEFB and I like IFLY better.

However, I do have one problem. Both of my iPad devices will not reconnect to the Dual after switching to a different app. The problem is the same as described in this posting. is there an update schedule to fix this particular problem. This would be a showstopper bug for me as I can't teardown the app and restart it in flight just to check other apps on my device.

Note, I've not been able to get the Dual to reconnect other then forcing the app to stop and restarting iFly.

One thing you can try, after you switch back to iFly, go to connected devices and select none. Then go back and select the Dual. This is a work a round at best.

But hang in there, I have reasons to believe the Adventure Pilot guys will be making some major improvements with this in the near future.

I just purchased a Dual XGPS170. My wife is contemplating purchasing a Ipad Mini2. It comes with iOS 8.3. I'm told by the Dual folks that iOS 8.3 has Bluetooth issues. I'm also being told that iOS 8.4, due to release by 30-June, solves this.

Both of the above comes from Internet research as well as emails from Dual and speaking with Apple...

So, not sure if it's an Ifly or Dual thing. I think it may be an Apple thing. Oh and the Ifly product has some very nice features. I have shown it to folks running other products and have sold them easily...

But, I do hope iOS 8.4 fixes the Bluetooth thing since I'd like to steal the wifes Ipad, once she gets it.

Yes, IOS 8.3 has issues with bluetooth. I would hope they are fixed soon. I just purchased an IPad Mini 3 from Verizon and love it. I was going to get the Mini 2, but Verizon had the Mini 3 priced lower than the Mini 2. I got the 64 gb with WIFI and LTE. I connect to my SkyGuard with WIFI, so the bluetooth is a non-issue. The IPad Mini is ideal from me flying a Cessna SkyCatcher. I have a RAM windshield mount that works great. You'll love the Mini 2 or 3.
