Bryan,
The FAA has not said how much they will charge for digital data, nor have they given any details as to how a digital-data-dealer relationship will work. They have a significant issue to overcome as all the aviation data they are compiling is public and cannot be copyrighted; so anyone can scan/digitize the charts and legally distribute, and even their own digital data can be legally and freely copied and distributed. Their attempt to recapture revenue by charging for this will be like climbing a greasy pole; the more they charge the more they will drive folks like us to combine resources to build & distribute our own digital charts.
Suffice to say we are keeping our eye very closely on this issue and will do everything we can to limit any price increases.
Thanks,
Walter
