Can I power my 700 through the USB data cable?

Frank: FYI, I just purchased an extra cigarette lighter power cord form AP then removed the plug that goes into the lighter socket and connected the ends of those wires to the avionics bus. Just watch the polarity of the wires. A 1 amp circuit breaker/fuse will handle the current fine. ---Ralph

I got a plug at Radio Shack (two pack) to make my custom panel power point. I put heat shrink tubing where the wires exit the jack as a strain relief and while it was still hot from shrinking I bent it 90 degrees for a clean install look.
