I do not understand how to update my iFly using Navierxtras. It says the device has to be connected to the computer but I don't see how that is done. Help!

I've had an iFly for about a year now, and have never heard of "Naviextras", nor do I know why I'd want it. I did look up their website and see that they supposedly support the iFly, but again I don't know what data they provide that AP doesn't.

I also noticed that Naviextras has a support tab at the top of their website. I would guess that you would be better served by contacting them and asking for help with their product, rather than here.

Naviextras is the site for updating maps for the Streets version of the iFly. If you don't have the Streets version, you would have no need or reason for knowing about Naviextras. I read their site carefully and still do not know how their updating service works with the iFly, hence my question here.

Robert,

First, you will likely need to setup an account on the naviextras site. Then locate and download the ToolBox program to your PC. This will allow you to update your iFly Streets data by directly inserting the iFly 700 SD card into your PC, without having to connect the iFly 700 to the PC via a cable as they indicate. You will need a SD reader, either built-in to your PC or a SD reader adapter. These are very common. I hope this helps. I believe the Toolbox will walk you through the process. We will be back in the office on Monday. If you need additional assistance, please feel free to contact Support during business hours, M-F 9am-5pm. You may also re-post here as we try to monitor the forums for urgent posts over the weekend. We may be able to help.

Thanks and have a great weekend.

Shane, thanks. It's a bit of a complicated procedure, but it worked as advertised. Turns out the 3D database on my card was up-to-date anyway and the street data is only two quarters old, so I didn't need to update anyway!
