740B

I picked this up a few months ago.  I plugged it in and sat on the couch playing with it to familiarize myself with it.  Put it in the plane and all is well.  Just now thought I would refresh myself with it a bit and turned it on.  It has frozen up.  Can't get it to do anything.  It goes to a clock on the screen and tells me that the Atlanta chart is not updated.  I don't care if it is, I don't fly cross country, but being here in the south not familiar with the landmarks, it would be nice to be able to feel free to get out of eyesight of the airport.  I am used to Alaska and Washington.  With the mountains to use as waypoints you know where you are.  I will just go back to dead reckoning I guess till I get this unit back on track.

Try turning off the tiny battery switch on the bottom right of the unit. It is a tiny dip switch and can reboot the system when turned off and then back on a few seconds later.
