How does Multi-Platform work?  Let's say I want to do flight planning on the PC but I'd still like to have four devices in the airplane (for example, each having a different display)?  Can I move that PC instance to a portable device?  Or is my PC instance just going to stay home?

The first time you launch iFly on a new device, it will ask you to log in so it can establish a connection with the update servers and download current data.  The servers track which devices you have logged in from ("registered devices"), and if you try to log in from a fifth device, you will get an error message.

You can deregister a device from within iFly (any registered device can de-register itself or any of the others), to free up a spot for a new device.

So yes, you can do what you are asking to do.

I'm curious how you are using 4 devices in the airplane at once unless you're talking about a copilot. I think the problem comes in when you make changes on one device (in the air) that don't automatically get made on the other three. I may not know what I'm taking about because I only use one iPad with iFly plus a Garmin G300.

There is a limit to how often you can swap devices on your plan. I believe it is one time per month.
