IFly 720 drains aircraft battery

IFly 720 drains aircraft battery

Even though I shut the IFly 720 down, turning it off with the power symbol, it drains the aircraft battery if the IFly 720 is left plugged in to the 12v aircraft socket. Anyone else noticed this? Why?

In both my planes the Cigar Lighter is turned off by the Master Switch. While I would not expect the iFly to draw much current when powered off, it might draw a little. It might be better to power the iFly off of the main buss, then directly from the battery.

If you are talking about the power symbol on the remote; that only turns off the screen, the iFly is still on. The only way to turn it off completely is to remove the power source.

I've never used the remote. I was referring to the power symbol on the IFly720's display. This was the second time it happened, just forgot to unplug the power cord. Normally, I leave it on a Battery Tender when in the hangar. Still, it took only 12 days or less to discharge the battery.

It needs to be on a switched power source. That way you can't forget it. I used to have a GPS in my car that would sometimes turn itself on, don't ask me how. The 12v sockets in my Tahoe are always on, so it ran my battery down several times. I finally threw it away.
