Does anyone know how/where to generate stats such as average ground speed, fastest speed, speed or distance between two points, etc. from the log files? I've used http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ to save maps of trips, but haven't found a way to get stats yet.

Thanks,

Don

Type "gpx analyzer" into Google, and you'll find several different sites besides gpsvisualizer.com. Play around with a few, and I bet you'll find one you like. (Then post back here and let us know!)

Here's one that might do what you're interested in: http://maplorer.com/view_gpx.html

Good question; I'd like to know what you find. I'd like to find one that uses the location and time and tell me if it was an FAA-qualified "night landing", etc. I've used GPS Visualizer, but I'd also like something to help me update my log book. I'll look around, too.

So far, this is the closest to what I was looking for - http://www.javawa.nl/analyser_en.html.

It gives me distance, max speed, average speed, and seems accurate. Max speed was 155.3 mph, with the average being 131.4 mph.

I also tried http://maplorer.com/view_gpx.html, but it returned my max speed as 263.1 mph with an average of 116.

Thanks for the search term tip - that made all the difference.

Don

There is a link to Everytrail.com off GPS Visualizer results. It will automatically take your GPS Visualizer content and analyze it.
