Thank you for your response ------ keeping a product off the market until it is "right" will benefit everyone. Congratulations to Sagetech.

I cancelled my order. Though sagetech has been known for quality products in the industry these delay after delay and now questionable pricing trying to get people to buy into vaporware with preporder and threats of cost increase seems suspicious. At eaa they said it was production delays and problems with their supplier. Now this?

i played a few times last month with the xgps170 prototype. Similar form factor to the sagetech and good pricing. Excellent performance but only supports low altitude traffic for air2air tis. The dual band skyradar has it beat on that feature. The only downside is there currently no bt support for the ifly. I did like once it was paired it was always connected. This was handy when using wifi at the fbos and home.

Update 3/2/13:

We received our early production Clarity SV on Friday. I have some good news! It all works, Weather, NexRad, Traffic low and hi. Interestingly enough I tested it in the car on the way home Friday evening as I have done with other ADSB receivers. The Clarity definitely gets a better signal than anything we've tested to date.

It has a solid build quality with a nice aluminum top, however there is one plastic corner, I'm assuming this is for the antenna, as plastics are better for allow signals through. It has a very nice charger and super durable cable, they even put a 90 degree on the USB end so it comes off the wall rather than hugging it. I can actually get a signal from my home, WX and Traffic. I took some pictures and video in action, but the iPhone distorted the screen. I plan on taking a test flight this weekend so I'll know more.

The AHRS works too. Once connected you can either add an Artificial Horizon to the screen or change the mode to Instrument Panel. If there is a HSI in the middle, just tap and there's the AH driven by the Clarity. It will even pop the FAR (Flight Attitude Recovery) Alert if you bank or pitch sharply, it's almost instant and very smooth. I did experience some drift when handling it aggressively, simulating aerobatics, but for normal style fight and even a confusing drive home (turning in a car presents little bank, yet produces gravity). This is tricky stuff for an AHRS and I think they got it. More details with an actual flight test to come.

With this said, I've inquired about and currently waiting on SageTech on a possible opportunity to either sell the Clarity ADSB receivers or be able to offer an iFly 720 / Clarity bundle or voucher to iFly purchasers.

We are also working with Levil on a similar opportunity on the iLevil, which we are waiting on a production unit to test as well. We want to show the pilot community that the iFly GPS is the most ADSB compatible dedicated GPS. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the update Shane!

I am looking forward to receivingmy my SV around the end of the month. The ability to interface with my 720 sounds amazing! If you have any screen shots that you could share once you get the system airborne it would be great to see.

I am sure if you get the vouchers or bundle available it would help sell the system!

Regards,

Paul

Will the iFly be able to utilize the wireless GPS signal from this device? While I haven't had a signal problem with my '700, it would be nice to be able to use the signal off the ADS-B box instead of having to run a(nother) wire, in the event the iFly can't acquire its position.
