I just purchased a 720 and setup the device. It connected to the internet and updated itself without problems. The GPS is working and shows my current position. But I am having problems setting the correct time. I entered our time zone EST (US /Canada GMT -5:00) but the clock shows one hour behind.

Daylight saving time is in effect, so your time is not actually EST, but EDT, which is one hour ahead of EST. I don't have my iFly handy, but I think on the same page as selecting the time zone, there is a setting for whether DST is ena or not. Toggle that setting and see if your time looks right.

This was posted on 3/27 by Steve, an AP employee:

Hi Dave,

From the main menu, go to the "Setup" menu. Click on the Tools tab (third from the bottom, looks like a wrench and screwdriver), and select the "Options" tab. From here you should be able to change the time zone. Some models currently don't have an option in the OS to adjust for daylight savings. If this is the case for your unit and the time is behind an hour, you can make up the difference by chosing a time zone one hour ahead. This should give you accurate time while an OS update is worked on.

Hope that helps!

Steve

I have a brand new Ifly 720, got it at Sun-&-Fun, and its a pretty slick piece, very happy with it. Same time problem, I'm on the East Coast, selected the correct time zone and enabled the DST setting yet no joy, the time is still an hour behind. To correct I have selected "Atlantic Time-Canada" to show the correct time. I assume that this will be corrected in the new release? Still love the machine though. RT

Because it's a small company and much of the beta testing is done informally by the user community. I have noticed the "SON" error but haven't reported it because it's never been a big enough deal for me to remember it while I'm logged into the forum.
