Update on late audio alert;

I have monitored very closely and have noticed that the alert sounds when the target is only 3 to 4 tenths nautical mile away. Not much time to pucker before impact.

If this is "normal" and we should depend only on looking outside, then why have an audio alert?

You can be looking outside and have a faster aircraft approach from the rear. Hard to see that.

Brolin. As a survivor of a midair I would like to have a dependable audio alert to supplement the visual screen warnings.  Since, as you say, we should be looking outside most of the time then we won't see the approaching target on the screen. Thus the need for an audio alert to draw attention from the outside to the screen.

It shouldn't take much software tweaking to allow the pilot to select a proximity distance for an audio alert.

I advise users of IFLY to install a rear view mirror because the sound you hear right after the late audio alert might be the sound of the impact. I KNOW what that sounds like.

Brolin - what are the intended criteria/ programmed logic with respect to the audio alerts?

Thanks.

logic is based on different phases of flight, a lot of moving pieces.

this is functioning normally. we have not had any issues reported with traffic alerts.

if you have further issues contact support.

Yup - Crystal clear. Obviously did a full code review. Thanks for digging in Brolin. We truly appreciate the clarity.
